Aquinas Piano Trio

Ruth Rogers – Violin
Katherine Jenkinson - Cello
Martin Cousin - Piano

The Aquinas Piano Trio was launched in 2009 and has quickly become one of Britain’s most sought-after ensembles. All three players are established solo artists in their own right and have vast experience of the chamber music repertoire. Between them, they have an outstanding array of awards and achievements and have performed at such prestigious venues as the Wigmore Hall, the Royal Albert Hall, South Bank Centre, Barbican Hall and Bridgewater Hall, Manchester. They are all major prize-winners from a number of important competitions, have performed with the country’s leading orchestras and played chamber music throughout the globe.

Last season the trio performed at many venues including Kings Place, London and St George’s, Bristol. The group was chosen as featured artists for the Concert Promoter’s Network 2010 and performed at music clubs all over the UK. 2011 saw performances at the Kings Lynn, Sydenham, and Brighton Festivals as well as a tour of the South West. Future plans include a return to the London Chamber Music Series, a tour of the Channel Islands, the making of a second disc and a tour of the North West of England.

This dazzling young trio is rising fast. If the Aquinas Piano Trio doesn't go on to become one of the most admired of its generation I really will eat my hat
(The Weston Mercury, October 2010)

Accomplished, artistic, assured - these three words alone would warrant the Aquinas Piano Trio its triple-A rating
(The Plymouth Herald, October 2009)

Rarely does one come across a group so relaxed and confident in their technical abilities that they are able to focus so completely on the soul of the music.
